Tech Career Pathways for Formerly Incarcerated Canadians

Lyve Chat

Even as Canada's tech sector seeks more talent in QA, design, and AI, eager and willing formerly incarcerated people often hit roadblocks to accessing these opportunities.

Even as Canada's tech sector seeks more talent in QA, design, and AI, eager and willing formerly incarcerated people often hit roadblocks to accessing these opportunities. After a successful pilot in 2025, Lyve Chat is expanding their proven 12-week program offering digital skills training, mentorship, emotional support, and direct job placement, delivering almost 100% employment rates and real, measurable economic mobility for their formerly incarcerated participants.

This scale-up initiative expands across Ontario through a hybrid model, offering participants hands-on learning in user acceptance testing, graphic design, business analysis, and more, alongside wraparound help for housing, mental health, and confidence-building mentorship.

Northpine Foundation is excited to invest in this expansion, building on past success, where a large cohort of participants landed stable roles at Lyve Chat and industry partners.
